After the Eid prayer, Özgür Özel spoke about MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's call to him and his statements to a newspaper regarding the CHP. Özel said, 'He mentioned that he followed how we got wet in the rain, our reception in our hometown, yesterday's meeting in Izmir, and the enthusiasm, and wished us well. He didn't say anything else beyond that.'
Özgür Özel, who was removed from the CHP chairmanship by a "null and void" decision and elected CHP Group Chair, performed the Eid al-Adha prayer at Hatuniye Mosque in his hometown of Manisa. After the prayer, speaking to the press, Özel responded to the question "Will you establish a new party?" by saying, "At this stage, we do not want anyone to leave the party in anger or frustration. We are not establishing a new party. We will protect Atatürk's party."

Özgür Özel used the following statements: "I already talk to Mr. Devlet every holiday and every holy night. My age requires it; I always call Mr. Devlet. He showed courtesy and called last night, without waiting for today, to wish us a happy holiday. He expressed his good wishes. He mentioned following us getting soaked in the rain, our welcome in our hometown, yesterday's meeting in İzmir, and the enthusiasm, and wished us health. He said nothing else beyond that.

In evaluations regarding the politics of another party, there is a boundary between political parties. We have not crossed that line, nor will we. What Mr. Devlet told me yesterday was entirely polite good wishes and a holiday greeting. Beyond that, the Republican People's Party will carry out its own process and make its own decisions. This party must quickly resolve its own internal issues on its own."

BAHÇELI POINTED TO SEPTEMBER 9 FOR THE CHP CONGRESS
On the eve of Eid al-Adha (yesterday), Bahçeli called both Özgür Özel and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Following the conversations, Bahçeli's comprehensive evaluations were published in the MHP's publication Türkgün.
Calling for common sense in CHP, Bahçeli said, "It is time for purification, calmness, and saying new things in the party. The hate speech poisoning the political atmosphere in CHP must be abandoned. Individuals involved in corruption and immorality should be cleansed. There should be no street actions, and the party should unite and come together. In our opinion, the congress date could be September 9, the founding date of the party."
