CHP General Chairman Özgür Özel expressed the grievances of those who were dismissed by the Decree Law (KHK) during his party's parliamentary group meeting. Following Özel's statements, in which he expressed his reaction in a strong tone, calls for a general amnesty came from thousands of people. In his speech at the group meeting, Özgür Özel used the following expressions: "Those who remain silent about not being able to bring back the leader of a gang that attempted a coup in the country and crushed the children of this nation with tanks given to them are now coming out and talking behind his back. This Fethullah Gülen has died and gone, the door of sin is open, friends. As long as the grievances of those whose rights have been violated continue, the doors of sin remain open. Those who have given him whatever he wanted are also being recorded in the book of sins. They took the authority under the pretext of fighting against FETÖ, and dismissed everyone who is leftist with KHK. Regardless of their views, while the authority of the Parliament is used by Erdoğan during the state of emergency, if judges say to those who are not related to terrorism, 'you are innocent, brother,' while they are trying to educate their children, and you do not reinstate any of them for even one more day, you are also taking on the same burden." After Özel's statements, thousands of people called for a general amnesty on social media. Messages were shared by many users who were dismissed by KHK, such as, "Don't our citizens have as much right as those who are pardoned for every crime in their own countries?", "The oppression of KHK must end immediately, a general amnesty for political prisoners must be issued without delay."
