CHP General Chairman Özgür Özel made statements at a rally held in Esenyurt Republic Square following the suspension and arrest of Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer. "THEY ENTERED AHMET ÖZER'S BEDROOM..."Describing Ahmet Özer's detention process, Özel said, "Every morning at eight-thirty, Ahmet Mayor could have gone to the municipality if he was called at eight-thirty to give a statement, but they knocked on his door at five in the morning with a locksmith. His wife opened the door in panic and fear, and they pushed their way in. They went into Ahmet Özer's bedroom and personally woke him up; they did this knowingly. The bad, immoral, and unlawful treatment there will eventually come back to the conscience of this nation," he said. "A FIRST IS HAPPENING HERE"Continuing his statement, Özel thanked other political party leaders, saying, "A first is happening here. An injustice is being done to a mayor of a party, but there are many political parties here. We thank the Co-Chair of the DEM Party, the MPs of TİP and EMEP, and the provincial heads of Saadet, Gelecek, DEVA, and the Left Party. I thank the esteemed General Chairman of the DEVA Party, the General Chairman of the Democratic Party, the General Chairman of TİP, the General Chairman of EMEP, the General Chairman of the Gelecek Party, and the Saadet Party and Left Party for their institutional support," he stated.
