Due to the detection of avian influenza in the Antakya district of Hatay, a neighborhood has been quarantined. A total of 338 poultry in the infected farms were culled.
A neighborhood in the central district of Antakya, Hatay, was quarantined after bird flu was detected.
RESULTS CAME BACK POSITIVE
According to information obtained from the governorship, teams conducted an investigation following the application of Abdullah Duman, who has a poultry farm in Paşaköy Neighborhood, regarding the disease observed in his animals. Samples taken from the poultry in the neighborhood were sent to the Adana Veterinary Control Institute, and the results came back positive.
338 POULTRY ANIMALS DESTROYED
A total of 338 poultry animals found in different farms in Paşaköy Neighborhood, where bird flu was detected, were collected and destroyed by the teams. After notifying the District Health Directorate, the District Gendarmerie Command, and the Antakya Municipality about the disease, warning signs regarding the quarantine implementation were placed at the entrances and exits of the neighborhood.
A PIT WAS DUG AND BURIED WITH LIME
Poultry owner Abdullah Duman (70) told reporters that he reported the issue to the authorities after his animals died. Duman stated that tests showed his animals had bird flu and noted that the diseased animals were buried in a pit with lime.
