In Kocaeli, a suspect who argued with a private public bus driver over a bus stop and allegedly threatened him by showing pliers as if they were a weapon was caught by police teams. It was learned that the detained suspect will be referred to the courthouse after the procedures.
On July 11, a person named S.D. boarded the private public bus number 632 operating the Bahçecik-İzmit route, driven by Şükrü Gündüz, at the stop near the Kandıra Junction in the İzmit district of Kocaeli.
NO BUS CARD AND WANTED TO GET OFF AT A NON-ROUTE STOP
When the passenger said he had no bus card, driver Gündüz asked which stop he would get off at. When the passenger mentioned a stop outside their route where dropping off passengers is prohibited by regulation, Gündüz refused the request. The suspect, who insisted on not getting off the bus for a while and shouted, started cursing when the driver got off the bus. He then showed the pliers he had as if they were a weapon and made threats.
THOSE MOMENTS ON CAMERA
The tense moments that occurred while passengers were on the vehicle were captured by the bus's security camera. The suspect then got off the bus and left the area. After the incident, the driver went to the police station and filed a complaint against the person.
SUSPECT CAUGHT WITH PLIERS DISGUISED AS A WEAPON
Police teams launched an investigation into the incident and began efforts to catch the suspect. As a result of the operations, S.D. was caught along with the pliers disguised as a weapon by teams from the İzmit District Police Department and taken into custody. It was learned that the suspect would be sent to the courthouse in custody after necessary procedures.
