Prince George, the future heir to the British throne, will not be allowed to use a smartphone at Eton College, where he will start on September 9th. The 13-year-old George will be given a basic phone instead of a smartphone.
Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, will start his education at Eton College, one of England's most prestigious schools, on September 9th. However, the young prince will not be able to use a smartphone due to the school's strict technology rules.
According to Eton College's rules, new students are not allowed to use smartphones with internet access. George, despite being a member of the royal family, will be subject to the same rules as other students.
PHONE WITH BUTTONS INSTEAD OF SMARTPHONE
Students will only be provided with simple phones that have calling and text messaging features. The aim is to restrict social media, online games, and other digital distractions through apps.
However, students will not be completely deprived of digital resources. George will be given a tablet that connects to the school's wireless network, and internet usage will be monitored by the school administration.
WILLIAM AND HARRY ALSO STUDIED AT ETON
The phone ban at Eton is not expected to create a major change for George. Prince William had previously stated that George, Charlotte, and Louis do not have personal mobile phones.
On the other hand, Eton College holds special significance for the royal family. Prince William and his brother, Prince Harry, also completed their education at this school.
Although his family lives about a 15-minute drive from the school, Prince George will board at Eton like other students.
