A new development has occurred in the investigation of Gülistan Doku, who disappeared in Tunceli in 2020. An arrest warrant has been issued for suspect Umut Altaş, who went to the USA in 2022. It is expected that a request will be made for a 'red notice' to be issued for Altaş to be sought internationally. On the other hand, it is known that Altaş is a close friend of Mustafa Türkay Sonel, the son of the then Tunceli Governor Tuncay Sonel, who is among the detained suspects.

The file in the investigation of Gülistan Doku, who disappeared in Tunceli in 2020, was reopened after 6 years.

AN ARREST WARRANT FOR A NAME

Following the recent detention of 13 suspects, a detention order was issued for another name.

According to journalist Emrullah Erdinç, an arrest warrant has been issued for Umut Altaş, who went to the USA in 2022 and has not entered Turkey since that date. It is expected that a request will be made for a "red notice" to be issued for Altaş to be sought at the international level.

It is known that Altaş is a close friend of Mustafa Türkay Sonel, the son of the then Tunceli Governor Tuncay Sonel, who is among the detained suspects.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the investigation of Gülistan Doku, a 2nd-year student in the Child Development Department of Munzur University who has been missing since January 5, 2020, in Tunceli, operations were carried out in 7 provinces on suspicion of murder.

After the operations, 13 suspects were detained. It was learned that among the 13 people for whom detention orders were issued were Mustafa Türkay Sonel, the son of the then Tunceli Governor and current Ministry of Interior inspector Tuncay Sonel, and Doku's boyfriend Zeinal A.
