Preparations are underway for the Trump-Putin summit.

Mike Waltz, who was nominated by the elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, for the National Security Advisor position, reported that preparations are ongoing for the planned meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"PREPARATIONS ARE UNDERWAY"

Waltz stated in an interview with ABC News regarding the possible meeting between Trump and Putin, "Preparations are underway."

"YOU CANNOT REACH AN AGREEMENT WITHOUT DIALOGUE WITH THE OTHER PARTY"

Waltz, who said that steps would be taken soon by Trump to end the Russia-Ukraine war, emphasized, "According to President Trump's perspective, you cannot reach an agreement without establishing a relationship and dialogue with the other party. We will definitely have established this in the coming months."

"THE RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR MUST END THROUGH DIPLOMATIC MEANS"

Waltz also conveyed that the Trump administration is aware that the Russia-Ukraine war needs to end through diplomatic means, noting that a ceasefire would be an extremely positive step for both sides.

"TRUMP IS VERY SERIOUS ABOUT THE RELEASE OF HOSTAGES"

Waltz also stated that negotiations for an agreement to secure the release of hostages in Gaza are "currently ongoing," emphasizing that Trump is quite serious about the release of hostages, and therefore, they want to see an agreement reached before the elected president's inauguration on January 20.

"READY TO TAKE BIG AND BOLD STEPS"

In response to the question of whether Trump is serious about using military force to take control of Greenland or the Panama Canal, Waltz said that the most serious issue for Trump is the "dangers" facing the United States in the Arctic region. Waltz stated, "He is ready to take big and bold steps to ensure that the U.S. is strongly defended."

TRUMP: PUTIN WANTS TO MEET WITH ME

After meeting with Republican governors at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump stated in a press conference that Putin wants to meet with him.

"He (Putin) wants to meet with me; we are arranging this meeting. President Putin has expressed his desire for the meeting clearly. We need to end this war, it is a very bloody war," Trump said, without providing details on when the meeting might take place.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also expressed that Putin is ready to meet with Trump, stating, "No conditions are being sought for this."
