President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at a joint press conference held with the President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, at the Presidential Complex.
Highlights from President Erdoğan's statements are as follows:
"I would like to once again welcome them on the occasion of this visit, which takes place after 21 years. I also wish to pay a reciprocal visit to Mongolia in the upcoming period. Last year marked the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. We elevated our relations to a comprehensive partnership level in 2004. Today, we made decisions to further advance our relations with my esteemed friend. We just signed the joint declaration aimed at establishing a strategic partnership. I hope this partnership will be beneficial for our countries, Central Asia, and the world.
"WE HAVE EXCEEDED 100 MILLION DOLLARS IN OUR TRADE"
Today, various documents were signed between our ministries and institutions in different fields. All these documents will strengthen the foundation of our relations. Taking into account the mega projects announced by Mongolia, we aim to focus on construction, infrastructure, transportation, defense industry, mining, tourism, and agriculture, among other sectors. I call on our companies to develop joint projects from here. We have exceeded 100 million dollars in our trade. We believe that this figure is far below our real potential. Today, we focused on topics to increase this. We opened the Orhun Museum in 2008. This time, we aim to complete the museum construction carried out in cooperation with TIKA for the preservation of the Bilge Tonyukuk inscriptions within this year.
"GAZA HAS NOT BEEN CAPTURED"
In today's discussions, we addressed not only our bilateral relations but also regional and global issues such as Syria, Palestine, and Ukraine. We agreed to strengthen our solidarity in international and regional organizations, especially the UN. The President and his delegation examined our defense industry products. They will also visit Baykar in Istanbul tomorrow. The President and his delegation will visit Van to inspect the excavation site of the summer palace of the Ilkhanid ruler, discovered by Turkish and Mongolian archaeologists in 2022. I would also like to mention the agreement reached between Israel and Palestine. I hope the agreement will be beneficial for all our Palestinian brothers. We thank the mediating countries, especially Qatar and Egypt, for their efforts in reaching this agreement. Despite losing more than 50,000 martyrs, Gaza has not been captured. The joy that has spread to the streets of Gaza is the result of this unshakeable faith and heroic struggle. We have very important tasks ahead of us, such as delivering humanitarian aid and needs to the region."
