ERDOĞAN HAD MENTIONED THREE STAGES
In a statement he made in recent days, President Erdoğan had mentioned three stages regarding the process. Erdoğan, stating that the victims' money would be paid in the first stage, also gave the message for the second stage: "They will be held accountable."
Erdoğan had included the following statements:
"- We have shared our stance on the fund issue with our nation on various occasions. We are carefully handling the matter in three different categories. The first stage is the payment to investors of the savings in the funds decided to be liquidated. The Fund Coordination Board and our economic team meet regularly. With the entry into force of the bill on our Parliament's agenda, payment transactions will accelerate somewhat.
- The second stage is holding accountable before the judiciary those who, by engaging in manipulation, sometimes within an organization, obtained unfair and excessive gains. Our Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices are doing what is necessary in light of evidence and confessions.
- The third stage is the part concerning the measures to be taken so that we do not encounter a similar problem again. As a result of both the comprehensive report to be prepared by the State Supervisory Council and the other work carried out in line with our instructions, every necessary step will also be taken here in institutional, individual, or legislative terms."
