President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who came to Rome to attend the 4th Turkey-Italy Intergovernmental Summit, held a one-on-one meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the Villa Pamphili Residence.

WELCOMED WITH AN OFFICIAL CEREMONY



President Erdoğan was welcomed at Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International Airport by Turkey's Ambassador to Rome, Elif Çomoğlu Ülgen, and the accompanying embassy delegation. Erdoğan, along with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, National Intelligence Organization (MIT) President İbrahim Kalın, Presidential Communication Director Fahrettin Altun, and Presidential Foreign Policy and Security Chief Advisor Akif Çağatay Kılıç, as well as the President of the Defense Industry Haluk Görgün, also came to Italy. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was officially welcomed by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.



ERDOĞAN AND MELONI MET FACE TO FACE



Prime Minister Meloni welcomed President Erdoğan as he got out of his vehicle during the ceremony held at the Villa Pamphili Residence. After saluting the honor guard, Erdoğan and Meloni shook hands and posed for the press. Following the introduction of the delegations, Erdoğan and Meloni moved on to a private meeting at the Villa Pamphili Residence. The meeting held before the summit was closed to the press.



TURKEY-ITALY SUMMIT HAS STARTED



The 4th Turkey-Italy Intergovernmental Summit began under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The summit, held at the Villa Pamphili Residence, is being conducted behind closed doors.



Attending the summit were Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, AK Party Deputy Chairmen Halit Yerebakan, Faruk Acar, Presidential Communication Director Fahrettin Altun, and Presidential Foreign Policy and Security Chief Advisor Akif Çağatay Kılıç, as well as Presidential Chief Advisor Çağrı Erhan and Presidential Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün.



A PRESS CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD



Following the intergovernmental summit, it is expected that agreements signed between the Turkish and Italian governments will be exchanged, and a joint press conference will be held by Erdoğan and Meloni. After their meetings here, President Erdoğan and his accompanying delegation are expected to go to the Vatican, then proceed to the Quirinal Palace to meet with Italian President Sergio Mattarella, and then move to the Parco dei Principi Hotel where the Italy-Turkey Business Forum will take place.
