President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar, recipient of the 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, at the Presidential Complex. Sancar was accompanied by his wife Gwen Boles Sancar at the reception, which was closed to the press.

HE RECEIVED THE NOBEL PRIZE FOR HIS DNA REPAIR STUDIES
Born in 1946 in the Savur district of Mardin, Aziz Sancar was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2015 together with Tomas Lindahl and Paul Modrich for his studies on DNA repair mechanisms. Sancar continues his work in the field of biochemistry and biophysics at the University of North Carolina in the US.
