“IT IS TOO EARLY TO MAKE CATEGORICAL STATEMENTS FOR NOW”
On his return from a visit to South Korea, Erdoğan answered journalists’ questions and was asked whether the US election results would affect Turkey-US relations and the American administration’s Middle East policy. Erdoğan gave the following response:
“I wish the election results to be auspicious for the American people. At the same time, I hope their reflections on our region and world politics will be positive. It would probably be a bit early to make categorical statements for now.”

Stating that Turkish-American relations are deep-rooted and based on solid foundations, Erdoğan said, “We are two countries that are NATO allies and have strategic relations dating back many years.”
“WE WANT OUR REGION TO ATTAIN PEACE”
Drawing attention to the fact that the region has been going through a turbulent process for a long time, Erdoğan said, “Unfortunately, wars, conflicts, and persecutions continue all around us.
