President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered journalists' questions on the plane upon his return from his visit to Kazakhstan. In his assessment of the mayors who switched from CHP to AK Party, Erdoğan signaled that new additions may occur in the upcoming period.
President Erdogan was asked about the mayors who recently left the CHP and joined the AK Party, as well as the debates within the CHP. Erdogan stated that the AK Party is a movement focused on serving the nation and that those who joined the party found peace in the AK Party.
“THEY FOUND PEACE IN THE AK PARTY”
Erdogan, noting that some individuals who felt pressured and threatened by the CHP administration have joined the AK Party, said, “We are a movement that came together with the aim of serving the nation. We continue our path with those who share our high values and understanding of service.”
Erdogan emphasized that the internal debates within the CHP are regrettable for the reputation of politics, arguing that those who once held positions in the party are more aware of the current situation.
“NEW PARTICIPATIONS MAY OCCUR”
Erdogan stated that the common message from the mayors who switched to the AK Party is that “services cannot be produced in the CHP,” adding, “They said they have become unable to carry out municipal duties. In the future, there may be friends who join us in the same way.”
