President Erdogan signed! New ambassadors appointed to 12 countries

New ambassadorial appointments to 12 countries, signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, were published in the Official Gazette. Within the scope of the decision, while some ambassadors were recalled to the headquarters, new names were appointed to missions including the Philippines, Finland, Bahrain, Oman, Namibia, South Korea, Sudan, North Macedonia, Somalia, Gambia, and Mozambique. Numerous appointments were also made within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for directorates-general and senior positions.

The decisions regarding ambassadorial appointments made with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan were published in the Official Gazette.

With the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, new ambassadorial appointments were made to 12 countries. Accordingly; Türkiye's Ambassador to Burundi, Alp Isikli, was recalled to the center, and Board of Inspection Member Haydar Kerem Divanlioglu was appointed in his place. Türkiye's Ambassador to North Macedonia, Fatih Ulusoy, was also recalled to the center. Kaan Esener, a member of the Foreign Policy Advisory Board, was appointed to the Philippines Embassy; Türkiye's Ambassador to Bahrain, Ayse Hilal Sayan Koytak, was appointed to the Finland Embassy; Presidential Advisor Necati Sancaktutan was appointed to the Bahrain Embassy; Deputy Director General for Relations with Iran Huseyin Ergani was appointed to the Oman Embassy; and Fikriye Asli Guven was appointed to the Namibia Embassy. Türkiye's Ambassador to Sudan, Fatih Yildiz, was appointed to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea; Türkiye's Ambassador to Gambia, Fahri Turker Oba, was appointed to the Sudan Embassy; Türkiye's Ambassador to Somalia, Alper Aktas, was appointed to the North Macedonia Embassy; and Türkiye's Ambassador to Mozambique, Ferhat Alkan, was appointed to the Somalia Embassy. Deputy Director General of the Diplomatic Archives Omer Faruk Gokmen was appointed to the Gambia Embassy, and Deputy Director General of Public Diplomacy and Strategic Communication Ayca Osaoglu Inam was appointed to the Mozambique Embassy.

APPOINTMENTS AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Volkan Isikci, Director General for Bilateral Relations (South and Multilateral Africa), was appointed to the Directorate General for Bilateral Relations (West and Central Africa); Sadik Babur Girgin was appointed to the Directorate General for Humanitarian and Technical Assistance; Yonet Can Tezel was appointed to the Directorate General for Bilateral Relations (South and Multilateral Africa); and Riza Hakan Tekin was appointed to the Directorate General for Bilateral Relations (Syria). Esin Cakil, Director General for Migration Policy and Visa Procedures, was appointed to the Directorate General for Consular Services and Citizens Living Abroad; Ertan Yalcin was appointed to the Directorate General for Protocol and Diplomatic Procedures; Ulku Kocaefe was appointed to the Directorate General for Overseas Promotion and Cultural Affairs; and Levent Eler was appointed to the Directorate General for Bilateral Relations (Northeastern Mediterranean). Tufan Buyukuzun, Head of the Strategy Development Department, was appointed to the Directorate General for Personnel; Polat Safi, Head of the Center for Strategic Research, was appointed to the Directorate General for Public Diplomacy and Strategic Communication; Reyhan Ozgur, Deputy Director General for Visa Procedures, was appointed to the Directorate General for Migration Policy and Visa Procedures; and Burcu Aykut was appointed to the Strategy Development Department.
