THE 100 THOUSAND LIRA MATERNITY LEAVE QUESTION
In the competition, a contestant named Sevgül Batur was asked a question worth 100 thousand liras: "According to Labor Law No. 4857, what is the total maternity leave period that female workers can use before and after birth in single pregnancies?" The options included 12, 16, 20, and 24 weeks. The contestant answered "12 weeks," making an incorrect choice, while it was announced that the correct answer to the question was "24 weeks."
MINISTER GÖKTAŞ'S REMINDER OF '24 WEEKS'
After these moments were broadcast on television, Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş made a post on her official social media account regarding the issue. Drawing attention to the significant legal regulation made for the rights of working mothers within the scope of the "Family and Population Decade" vision, Minister Göktaş stated, "Let us remind once again on this occasion. We have increased the maternity leave period for all our working mothers from 16 weeks to 24 weeks."

In her post, Minister Göktaş also addressed the contestant who was eliminated by giving the wrong answer, saying, "I wish Ms. Sevgül Batur many beautiful years to spend with her little grandchild in health and happiness."
