President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan marked an active day in regional diplomacy by holding two critical phone conversations with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Zeydi. In the leaders' summit, where new-era strategies with neighboring countries were discussed, support for the Iran-US agreement, a joint stance against provocations, and the immense cooperation potential with Iraq in energy, defense, and transportation came to the forefront.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held two separate phone conversations with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Zeydi. During the meetings, bilateral relations, as well as cooperation in energy, trade, and defense industry, and regional peace steps were discussed.
MESSAGE TO IRAN: "BE CAUTIOUS AGAINST THOSE WHO WANT TO SABOTAGE NEGOTIATIONS"
President Erdogan, in his meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, addressed Turkey-Iran bilateral relations and regional and global developments. Stating that the agreement reached between Iran and the US is satisfactory, Erdogan emphasized that Turkey will provide all kinds of support to ensure the process results in peace.
Regarding the critical diplomatic process, Erdogan highlighted the importance of being cautious against actors who want to sabotage the negotiations. Expressing that steps to strengthen regional peace need to be taken in the new period, President Erdogan stated that they will continue to take determined steps to improve commercial, financial, and energy cooperation between Turkey and Iran.
INVITATION TO TURKEY FOR IRAQI PRIME MINISTER ZEYDI
Another diplomatic traffic of President Erdogan was with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Zeydi. In the meeting where Turkey-Iraq bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues were evaluated, the leaders focused on strategic areas.
Stating that they aim to further advance relations between Turkey and Iraq in the new period, President Erdogan underlined that there is great potential for cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of energy, defense industry, and transportation. Erdogan invited Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Zeydi to Turkey to consult on these issues and joint steps more comprehensively.
