Private, Kadir Mısırlıoğlu called on Erdoğan: Apologize for this.

14.09.2024 12:30

CHP leader Özgür Özel made a new statement regarding the controversy of apologizing in politics. Criticizing President Erdoğan for his visit to Kadir Mısırlıoğlu, Özel said, "Tayyip Bey went to his funeral. He sat at the end of his bed. He held his hand and looked into his eyes. He also sent five ministers to his funeral. Let's see if Tayyip Bey apologizes for Kadir Mısıroğlu's statements."

The President Erdogan criticized the meeting with Dilruba Kayserilioglu, who received a prison sentence due to her words in a street interview at the 93rd Izmir International Fair opening ceremony, by the leader of the CHP, Ozgur Ozel. He said, "They said we changed and normalized, but they put a person who insulted the nation and the will of 28 million people as an honored guest in Izmir. That photo is not suitable for Turkish politics and Turkish democracy. It has cast a shadow. We believe that the leader of the CHP, Ozel, owes an apology to the nation."

Ozel, on the other hand, responded to Erdogan by saying, "What did I say that I should apologize for? I apologize to anyone who was offended and felt bad about the words spoken on behalf of Dilruba. Now it's Erdogan's turn. He called those who participated in Gezi with words that I cannot even utter 'whores'. Now Erdogan should apologize to them."

ERDOGAN REFUSES "APOLOGIZE" CALL

In his statements at the opening ceremony of the Marmara University Recep Tayyip Erdogan Complex yesterday, Erdogan responded to the call for an apology for the word "whores" used by Ozel for those who participated in Gezi by saying, "We cannot see an attempt that targets the people and national will as a legitimate democratic action. Those who caused chaos in the streets for weeks are the ones who should apologize."

Ozel calls on Erdogan through Kadir Misirlioglu: He should apologize for this

OZEL ATTACKS THROUGH MISIRLIOGLU

In the apology polemic between the two leaders, Ozel made another statement while answering journalists' questions in Izmir. He criticized Erdogan through Kadir Misirlioglu, saying, "Tayyip Bey went to his grave. He sat at the end of his bed. He held his hand and looked into his eyes. He even sent five ministers to his funeral. Let's see if Tayyip Bey apologizes for Kadir Misirlioglu's statements. If all these statements are embraced by approaching and sitting next to him, let's see Tayyip Bey. He called the imam they appointed to Hagia Sophia 'devil', he called the CHP members 'infidels', he indirectly turned against Ataturk and said 'They are all infidels'. What are we going to say to them? A few lunatics are still going around mosques and insulting all CHP members. They insult the honor of women. Apologize to them. This country does not want high tension. It wants action from the government and service from the opposition."

EARLY ELECTION CALL

In his continued statement, Ozel reiterated his call for early elections, saying, "November 2025 is the latest date. Let Tayyip Bey come and relieve the people. Let him make the biggest referee decision without fighting, insulting, or cursing. We have heard enough insults and curses."
