In an interview with Melis Yaşar on Haberler.com, Prof. Dr. Osman Tecimel emphasized the importance of movement in the treatment processes. Tecimel, who explained the advantages of prosthetic surgery and robotic operations, stated that hip prostheses yield more natural results and that robotic surgery facilitates rapid recovery. "A PATIENT WHO DOES NOT MOVE IS A DEAD PATIENT FOR US"Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist Prof. Dr. Osman Tecimel stressed the great importance of regular movement for patients to maintain their health. He explained how physical activity plays a vital role in the treatment process by stating, "A patient who does not move is a dead patient for us." He noted that prolonged immobility can create serious problems, especially in the treatment of joint diseases and age-related illnesses. "PROSTHETIC SURGERIES SHOULD BE DELAYED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE"Prof. Dr. Tecimel, who made statements about prosthetic surgeries, said that prosthetic surgery is generally preferred for elderly patients, but these surgeries should be postponed as much as possible. He also noted that with the development of robotic surgery in recent years, more compatible prostheses can be implanted in patients' bodies. Discussing the advantages of robotic surgery, Tecimel stated that this method allows patients to recover quickly, and that patients who undergo knee prosthesis surgery can walk the next day. "WE MAKE PATIENT-COMPATIBLE PROSTHESES IN ROBOTIC SURGERY"Prof. Dr. Osman Tecimel also explained the differences between prosthetic surgeries performed on the hip and knee joints. He stated that hip joint surgeries provide a more natural feeling and yield more successful results compared to knee joint surgeries. He also warned that patients' fears could negatively affect their treatment processes, and that fearing surgeries could actually lead to more significant health problems.
