Prostitution operation in Antalya: 14 women rescued, 3 arrests

In Antalya, within the scope of efforts carried out by police teams to prevent prostitution incidents, an operation was conducted at a business in the Muratpaşa district. While 14 women, who were assessed to have been forced into prostitution, were rescued, 3 of the 5 suspects taken into custody were arrested. A judicial control decision was issued for the other 2 suspects.

A striking operation was carried out within the scope of the work conducted to detect and prevent prostitution incidents in Antalya. Teams from the Antalya Police Department's Public Order Branch Directorate launched a comprehensive operation to rescue women believed to have been forced into prostitution and to identify individuals who facilitated this crime.

During the investigations, it was determined that a business operating on Lara Street in the Güzeloba neighborhood of Muratpaşa district provided accommodation for women believed to be waiting on the street for the purpose of prostitution.

POLICE MONITORED THE BUSINESS

Police teams conducted work on the aforementioned business and connected individuals based on the information obtained. Following technical and field investigations, evidence was gathered indicating that the business facilitated prostitution and provided accommodation for women.

After the investigations were completed, an operation was carried out at the identified address. In the operation, 5 suspects were caught and taken into custody.

During the police intervention, 14 women found at the business and at locations linked to the incident were also rescued. It was reported that the women were believed to have been forced into prostitution and that necessary procedures have been initiated.

The 5 suspects detained in the operation were referred to the courthouse on charges of "encouraging prostitution, facilitating it, and providing accommodation" after their procedures at the police station.

Three of the suspects were arrested and sent to prison by the court they were brought before. It was decided to impose judicial control measures on the other 2 suspects.
