Protests that began following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor İmamoğlu have intensified. In Ankara, a protester injured a police officer in the head with an axe he threw.

A group wanting to protest the corruption and terrorism investigations against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office gathered in Ankara Kızılay. Some members of the group, who tried to break through the police barricade, resisted the police. Police teams warned the group to disperse at different times using a megaphone.

Despite all warnings, the crowd that did not disperse threw fireworks, stones, and glass bottles at the police teams. Among the items thrown at the police were various tools such as an axe, screwdriver, and pliers. One police officer was injured in the head by an axe that was thrown.

Those who hid their faces with masks threw tables and chairs taken from nearby businesses at the police. Some members of the group set fire to various items they collected from the surroundings. Many parked vehicles were damaged due to the items thrown.
