"WE ARE ALWAYS READY FOR PEACE TALKS"
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the peace proposals conveyed to them were sometimes 'exotic' and unacceptable, and stated that his country is ready for peace negotiations 'based on the realities on the ground.'
Putin, speaking to the Rossiya-24 state channel, made assessments regarding developments related to the Russia-Ukraine War. Referring to the proposals conveyed to them, Putin said, "The proposals conveyed to us sometimes, so to speak, are exotic in nature and unacceptable. We are always ready for negotiations on peace, but only based on the realities that have formed on the ground."
"THEY PLANNED TO INFLICT A STRATEGIC DEFEAT ON RUSSIA"
Putin, saying that Ukraine aimed to defeat Russia 'within 40 days' as a result of attacks to be carried out with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), described this as "a new adventure of the Kiev administration and its Western supporters."
Putin used the expression, "This time, they planned to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia within 40 days by targeting our civilian facilities and logistics infrastructure with missile and UAV attacks."
"THE KIEV ADMINISTRATION HAS NOT GAINED ANY ADVANTAGE"
Putin, stating that in response, Russia has intensified its attacks on military-industrial enterprises in Ukraine, including the capital Kiev, emphasized that they have also begun to respond to actions against their civilian industrial facilities and logistics infrastructure. Expressing that these attacks had the opposite effect than expected for Ukraine, Putin said, "The Kiev administration and those who govern it have not gained any advantage and never will."
"THEY OPENED PANDORA'S BOX THEMSELVES"
Putin, saying that the Kiev administration has made attempts through mediators to find a way out of the current situation, stated that Ukraine's own actions led to this situation.
Putin, stating that the Kiev administration aimed to harm the Russian economy, said, "They opened Pandora's box themselves. So, they will see the response given to the most sensitive sectors of their economy, which are already struggling to stay afloat. This also includes agricultural production."
Putin, making assessments on whether disruptions in shipments due to damage to Ukraine's export infrastructure would create problems in the global grain market, said, "It is unlikely that anything will change. Because, first of all, we have a large export potential. I was informed that it is at least 60 million tons."
Putin, noting that there are some problems in the export of Russian products but they will solve them, said, "Therefore, there will be no shortage in the world market."
