Russian President Vladimir Putin has granted the U.S.-based fund 683 Capital Partners the authority to purchase certain securities owned by Westerners in Russian companies.
The decree approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the sale of certain securities owned by Westerners in Russian companies has been published in the country's legal information system.
AUTHORITY TO PURCHASE SECURITIES FOR U.S. FUND
Accordingly, the U.S.-based fund 683 Capital Partners has been granted permission to purchase certain securities owned by Westerners in Russian companies. Thus, 683 Capital Partners will be able to buy Russian securities belonging to some companies based in the U.S. and the UK.
IT WAS BANNED IN 2022
With the decree signed by Putin in August 2022, Western companies were banned from trading in Russian securities. Transactions can only be conducted with special permission provided by the Russian government.
