The repercussions of the passenger plane crash in Kazakhstan continue. An Embraer 190 aircraft belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), operating the Baku-Grozny route, crashed on December 25. AZAL announced that there were 67 people on board, consisting of a 5-member crew and 62 passengers. It was reported that 38 people lost their lives, while 29 were rescued. Azerbaijani officials confirmed the claim that the aircraft was subjected to an attack by the Russian "Pantsir-S" air defense system.
