Putin to Aliyev: Phone call regarding the plane crash that killed 38 people: We apologize.

A passenger plane belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines, operating the Baku-Grozny route, has crashed, resulting in the deaths of 38 people, while 29 others survived. It was claimed that the accident occurred due to a Russian missile hitting the aircraft. Russian President Putin called Azerbaijani President Aliyev to apologize for the incident, as the plane crash took place in Russian airspace.

The repercussions of the passenger plane crash in Kazakhstan continue. An Embraer 190 aircraft belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), operating the Baku-Grozny route, crashed on December 25. AZAL announced that there were 67 people on board, consisting of a 5-member crew and 62 passengers. It was reported that 38 people lost their lives, while 29 were rescued. Azerbaijani officials confirmed the claim that the aircraft was subjected to an attack by the Russian "Pantsir-S" air defense system.

PUTIN APOLOGIZED FOR THE ACCIDENT

After the accident, Russian President Putin called Aliyev to express his condolences. Another notable move came from Putin. During a phone conversation with Aliyev, Putin apologized because the incident occurred in Russian airspace.

PUTIN'S CLAIM OF "UKRAINIAN DRONES ATTACKED"

Putin stated that while the plane was attempting to land in Grozny, Ukrainian drones attacked Russia, and that Russian air defense was active during the plane's landing.
