The Turkish National Women's Volleyball Team won their second victory by defeating the Dominican Republic 3-1 in their second match at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The match started with back-and-forth points, and the Dominican Republic took the lead with their effective play, bringing the score to 8-4. Despite the efforts of the Turkish team to improve their defense after the timeout, the Dominican Republic extended the lead to 6 points with points at the net: 11-17. The Turkish team reduced the gap with consecutive points from Vargas, but the Dominican Republic won the first set with a score of 25-21.

QUEENS OF THE COURT START STRONG IN THE 2ND SET

The "Queens of the Court" started the second set strong. With points from Eda Erdem Dündar and Melissa Vargas, the score became 7-3. After the timeout, the Dominican Republic scored consecutive points and reduced the gap to 1 point: 8-7. After Ebrar Karakurt entered the game, the Turkish team achieved a 7-1 run: 15-8. The Turkish team, with smashes from Eda Erdem Dündar and Melissa Vargas, prevented the gap from closing and won the set 25-18 to equalize the score.

The "Queens of the Court" also started well in the third set, with points from Melisa Vargas and İlkin Aydın bringing the score to 7-3. As the set continued, the gap increased even more with performances from Vargas, Zehra Güneş, Hande Baladın, and Gizem in defense: 15-8. In the middle of the set, the Dominican Republic reduced the gap to 3 points with consecutive points: 21-18. In the final stages, with performances from Hande Baladın and Vargas, the Turkish team maintained their lead and won the set 25-22 to take a 2-1 lead.

4TH SET ENDS 25-15

The Turkish team started the fourth set with a point from Zehra and took a 5-1 lead with the scoring play of Vargas and İlkin. With Captain Eda's attack and Zehra's impact in defense, the score became 11-4. The Turkish team won the set 25-15 and the match 3-1, securing their second victory.

The match was also attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Osman Aşkın Bak. Turkish spectators from different countries in France and Europe did not leave the Turkish National Women's Volleyball Team alone. Having won both of their matches in the group, the Turkish team will play their final match in Group C against Italy on Sunday, August 4th at 10:00 (GMT).
