Radical decision from Amazon: work model is changing! Turbulence has begun in the company.

17.09.2024 16:10

US-based e-commerce giant Amazon is changing its work-from-home model, which it adopted during the pandemic. Amazon initially switched to 5 days of remote work, then reduced it to 2 days, and now announced the complete elimination of remote work. It is stated that Amazon employees will now work in the office for 5 days a week, but it is noted that some employees are not happy with this situation.

An announcement has been made by Amazon, a multinational technology company based in the United States, that it is abandoning the remote work model. The company has decided to transition to a hybrid model and has started calling its employees to the office for five days a week. While there have been issues with employees who do not want to come to the office, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy told those who reject this work model to leave.

Following the announcement by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy that employees need to return to the office for five days a week, the company's employees planned to revolt through a 'soft resignation' approach. Angry employees quickly reacted to the new policy change, and some said they would apply for a soft resignation before moving on to a new job.

The CEO stated that the new change will provide a 'better environment for employees to innovate, collaborate, and connect with each other' in order to provide the best service to customers and the entire business.

A dissatisfied group of Amazon employees claimed that the new policy was designed to lay off employees.

WHAT IS A SOFT RESIGNATION?

It is used for situations where employees do not completely quit their jobs but avoid working longer hours and limit their tasks only to what is stated in their job description. Employees want to do the minimum required to complete their tasks and set clear boundaries to improve work-life balance. These employees still fulfill their job duties but do not subscribe to the 'work is life' culture in order to shape their careers and surpass their superiors. They remain loyal to what is written in their job descriptions and focus on non-work-related tasks and activities when they go home.
