As part of a secret investigation, security forces arriving at the municipal building examined numerous documents over allegations of irregularities in licensing and zoning affairs.
POLICE AT THE MUNICIPALITY: TEAMS SCRUTINIZE FILES
According to information received, the Istanbul Financial Police teams arrived at the Adalar Municipality following a tip-off and technical/physical surveillance. The financial police, who began search and examination activities at the municipal building, checked documents in critical units one by one.
24 ZONING FILES, INCLUDING 6 WORKPLACES, SEIZED
The focus of the operation is on allegations of zoning irregularities and turning a blind eye to illegal construction in the district. It has been learned that among the documents scrutinized within the scope of the investigation, there are a total of 24 zoning files, 6 of which belong to commercial workplaces.
NUMEROUS DOCUMENTS TAKEN TO POLICE HEADQUARTERS
After hours-long examinations, the Financial Branch teams seized zoning permits, official correspondence, and various digital/physical documents alleged to involve irregularities. Sacks of seized documents were taken to the Istanbul Police Department for detailed examination. It is reported that the investigation will deepen and continue, with possible detentions in the coming days.
