Collective bargaining negotiations between the Petrol-İş Union and a plastic company have concluded with an agreement. Under the signed contract, workers' base wages were increased by 27 percent, raising the average net wage, excluding fringe benefits, to approximately 94,000 Turkish lira, while the minimum monthly wage including benefits rose to 153,000 lira. The agreement, covering production facilities in four provinces, was celebrated by employees with drums, zurnas, and folk dances.
The collective bargaining agreement negotiations between Petrol-İş Union and a plastic company, which had been ongoing for some time, concluded with an agreement. After the parties reached a compromise, the new contract covering employees working at the company's production facilities in Turkey came into effect.
27 PERCENT INCREASE IN BASE WAGES: MINIMUM WAGE RISES TO 153 THOUSAND TL
Within the scope of the signed collective bargaining agreement, workers' base wages were increased by 27 percent. With the raise, the average net wage, excluding fringe benefits, rose to approximately 94 thousand TL. The lowest monthly gross wage, including bonuses and social benefits, was set at 153 thousand TL. The new regulation provided a significant increase in employees' total income.
COVERS FACILITIES IN 3 PROVINCES
The signed contract covers workers employed at the company's production facilities in Kocaeli, Adana, and Ankara. Following the parties' agreement, the collective bargaining agreement officially came into effect.
WORKERS CELEBRATED WITH FOLK DANCES
Meanwhile, after the contract was signed, employees celebrated the agreement by performing folk dances accompanied by drums and zurnas at the factories. The celebration videos shared on social media quickly garnered widespread attention, while the wage increases announced with the contract also stirred broad public interest.
