“PEACE AND RECONCILIATION ARE A STRONG MESSAGE”
The statement noted that the developing dialogue environment in the region shows the strengthening of approaches targeting cooperation and stability, underlining that the past should not be used for political purposes.
“POLITICAL EXPLOITATION IS UNACCEPTABLE”
The Ministry stated that some politicians from third countries are using the events of 1915 for narrow political interests, noting that such approaches damage the constructive process.
EMPHASIS ON A JOINT COMMISSION
Recalling that Turkey has opened its archives for a scientific and impartial examination of the events of 1915, the statement said that the proposal to establish a “Joint Historical Commission” remains valid.
The statement included the expression: “We invite third parties with constructive intentions to support efforts to reach a common and fair memory, as well as the recent developing constructive dialogue environment.”
