Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum announced good news about the rental social housing project in Istanbul during a live broadcast. Minister Kurum said, 'We will deliver 2,000 rental homes to citizens in August. The rental homes will not be in remote areas but in city centers. Eligible citizens will be able to live there for 3 years. 15,000 homes will be completed within 3 years.'
Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum shared the details of the rental social housing project launched to solve the high rent problem in Istanbul. Speaking on TGRT News live broadcast, Kurum gave a date.
2 THOUSAND RENTAL HOUSING UNITS TO BE DELIVERED IN AUGUST
Announcing that the first phase of 2 thousand housing units will be delivered to beneficiaries in August, Kurum stated that they aim to increase the project to a total of 15 thousand houses within three years.
THE HOUSES WILL BE IN THE CITY CENTER
Kurum said: "In this model, Minister Kurum emphasized that the houses will be built not in the mountains or outside the city, but directly in city centers, and announced that citizens can reside in these houses for 3 years. The project aims to provide low-income citizens with safe housing opportunities at affordable prices in central locations.
SEPARATE QUOTA FOR THOSE IN URBAN TRANSFORMATION
Here, families in need will apply. We will allocate a quota for those who have entered urban transformation. Someone wants to transform their house but cannot enter transformation because they cannot find a suitable house with rent support. We will determine those citizens by lottery, and this citizen, for example, let's say the rent there is 30 thousand lira. We will calculate it at half that price, perhaps even less than half, and with such a rent, they will live in that house for 3 years under very favorable conditions."
