Russia Sends More Humanitarian Aid For Gaza

18.11.2023 16:27

Cargo contains mattresses, pillows, personal hygiene products, food and baby food.

Russia on Saturday sent another cargo plane with 190 tons of humanitarian aid for residents of the Gaza Strip.

The supplies, which have reached Egypt, will be handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, which they will deliver it to civilians of the besieged enclave, the Emergency Ministry said in a statement.

The humanitarian cargo contains mattresses, pillows, personal hygiene products, food and baby food.

Another plane with 30 tons of humanitarian aid for Gaza will depart from Grozny airport in the Russian region of Chechnya for the Egyptian city of Al-Arish later in the day, the ministry said.

Since Israel started bombarding Gaza on Oct. 7, more than 12,000 Palestinians have been killed, including over 8,300 women and children, and more than 30,000 others have been injured, according to the latest figures.

Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, mosques and churches, have also been damaged or destroyed in Israel's relentless air and ground attacks on the besieged enclave.

An Israeli blockade has also cut Gaza off from fuel, electricity and water supplies, and reduced aid deliveries to a trickle.

The official Israeli death toll, meanwhile, stands at 1,200. -
