Russia Slams Biden's Derogatory Remarks About Putin, Calling It Disgrace To US

22.02.2024 15:12

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov mocks Biden for behaving like 'cowboy' in order to improve his image and gain support for upcoming election.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Thursday strongly reacted to US President Joe Biden's derogatory remark about Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling it disgraceful to America.

In an interview with Rossiya TV channel, Peskov mocked Biden for behaving like a "cowboy" in order to improve his image and gain support for the upcoming presidential election.

"Such boorish statements from the mouth of the head of state of the US are unlikely to somehow offend the head of another state, especially President Putin. However, this is a huge shame for the country itself. It is clear that Mr. Biden demonstrates, for the sake of domestic political interests, behavior in the style of a Hollywood cowboy," he said.

Peskov emphasized that Putin never stoops to insulting foreign leaders.

"If the president of such a country uses such language, it should be a shame," he said.

US President Joe Biden called his Russian counterpart Putin "a crazy SOB" on Wednesday at a fundraising event in California for his reelection campaign.

"This is the last existential threat, it is climate. We have a crazy SOB like that guy Putin, and others, and we always have to worry about nuclear conflict, but the existential threat to humanity is climate," Biden said while speaking at the gathering in San Francisco.

Separately, Russian Security Council Deputy Head Dmitry Medvedev slammed Biden's derogatory remarks, calling the US president "a useless old man."

"Unlike what the US president said, the existential threat is not the climate, but useless old men like Biden himself, who have fallen into insanity and are ready to start a war against Russia," Medvedev wrote on X. -
