Şamil Tayyar gave the signal of new resignations: Erdoğan won't protect either, don't drag it out.

AK Party's Şamil Tayyar made a striking statement after the resignation of SPK Chairman Mahmut Sütçü and the submission of a retirement petition by Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Osman Çelik. Targeting economic administrators associated with the fund scandal, Tayyar said, "There are others who will leave too. They had better say goodbye without dragging it out at all, without waiting for instructions from the presidential complex." Tayyar argued that President Erdoğan would not protect the individuals in question.

As debates continue over the fund scandal on Turkey's agenda, two major resignation reports came from the economic management.

While it was stated that Capital Markets Board (SPK) Chairman Mahmut Sütçü decided to resign due to health problems, it was reported that Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Osman Çelik also submitted his retirement petition to Minister Mehmet Şimşek.

Following the developments, AK Party member Şamil Tayyar, in a statement on his social media account, gave the message that new departures could occur.

“RIGHT BUT BELATED MOVES”

Evaluating the decisions of the two figures to leave their posts, Tayyar used the following statements:

“The resignation of SPK Chairman Mahmut Sütçü and the retirement of Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury Osman Çelik are right but belated moves.”

Tayyar claimed that the departure of economic managers linked to the fund scandal from their posts took place upon the instruction of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

“THERE ARE OTHERS WHO WILL GO”

Arguing that new departures could occur in the economic bureaucracy, Tayyar continued his statement with these words:

“There are others who will go. They had better say goodbye without dragging it out and without waiting for instructions from the presidential complex; they can no longer sit there.”

“OUR PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN WILL NOT PROTECT THEM EITHER”

At the end of his post, Tayyar made his warning to the managers in question even harsher:

“No one can stand against this social wind. Our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will not protect them either. Do not drag it out.”
