In France, many mosques were left with pig heads. While many politicians reacted to the scandalous incident, an investigation was launched.

Politicians in France reacted to the leaving of pig heads in front of mosques around the capital city of Paris.

PIG HEADS LEFT IN FRONT OF MOSQUES

Paris Police Chief Laurent Nunez stated in a statement made on the social media platform of the US-based X company that pig heads were found at the entrances of many mosques around Paris this morning. Nunez conveyed that an investigation has been launched regarding the incident, expressing that everything is being done to find the perpetrators of these heinous acts.

"ATTACKING PLACES OF WORSHIP IS AN UNTHINKABLE COWARDICE"

Many politicians from both the ruling and opposition sides reacted to the anti-Muslim (Islamophobic) attack on the same platform. Bruno Retailleau, the Interior Minister of the recently fallen center-right government of François Bayrou, noted that he supports the authorities and community of the mosques affected by these unbearable provocations. Retailleau stated, "Attacking places of worship is an unthinkable cowardice."

"A DISGUSTING, DISHONORABLE, AND REPULSIVE ACT"

Former French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal expressed, "This is a disgusting, dishonorable, and repulsive act," stating that he supports the community, mosque officials, and Muslims in the country who are the direct targets of these "disgusting acts." Attal emphasized that in a country governed by a republic, everyone has the right to believe and to practice that belief in peace, stating, "The principle of freedom of belief, which is a principle of secularism, must be guaranteed for everyone."

"ISLAMOPHOBIA IS A CANCER OF SOCIETY"

Attal, who argues that anti-Muslim hatred has no place in France, just like other forms of hatred, called for the perpetrators to be found and punished. Manuel Bompard, General Coordinator of the Unsubmissive France (LFI) Party, commented, "Islamophobia is a cancer of society," reiterating his support for the Muslim citizens in France who have been targeted once again.

LFI Deputy Bastien Lachaud stated, "This disgusting, Islamophobic act aims to demean, intimidate, and insult. This is an ugly and unbearable attack." Lachaud expressed his astonishment at this attack, accusing Retailleau of fueling hatred and normalizing Islamophobia every day.

Lachaud pointed out that the far-right spreads Islamophobia, emphasizing that all of this has led the perpetrators to take action. Lachaud also shared a message of solidarity with Muslim citizens.
