At around 01:30, an explosion occurred for an unknown reason in a building located on Reşitpaşa Street in İstiklal Neighborhood, Ümraniye district of Istanbul. THE WALL OF THE APARTMENT COLLAPSEDThe force of the explosion caused the wall of the apartment to collapse. One person was slightly injured in the incident. Firefighters, police, medical, and natural gas teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. THE BUILDING WAS EVACUATEDPolice teams took security measures in the area where the incident occurred and evacuated the building. While the explosion was assessed to be caused by natural gas, debris from the damaged building was scattered across the street. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident. "IT SOUNDED LIKE A BOMB EXPLODED"Raziye Altuntaş, one of the residents of the building where the explosion occurred, said, "The boiler probably exploded. The doors of our kitchen, nothing was left. We were very scared. It sounded like a bomb exploded. The washing machines were thrown everywhere. We are in the building that exploded, we live in number 5. The exploded house is right across. An ambulance came. Necessary actions were taken. May God not let harm come to our homeland and nation."
