We were coming down from the construction site, just about to go to the dormitories. Suddenly, we saw it was on fire." Worker Satı Yılmaz, who said they intervened with gas cylinders, stated, "We were on duty. We smelled smoke. We immediately grabbed the cylinders and tried to extinguish the fire. It flared up. It didn't even take 2 minutes."
"WE DON'T KNOW WHERE WE WILL STAY"
Worker İbrahim Erdem, who stated that they were trying to retrieve their salvaged belongings, said, "Around 4:00 PM, there was a rush. We didn't know what was happening because we were at work. When we got here, the flames had engulfed the containers. We tried to grab our wallets and IDs that we could salvage in a panic. We tried to intervene with small gas cylinders. We couldn't intervene because the flames spread. The fire brigade and police team arrived. Approximately 20-25 containers burned. There were 250 workers. Since it was containers, it spread quickly.
