The proposal to increase school bus fees by 10% was approved in the IBB Assembly. With the new regulation, school bus fees for distances between 0 and 1 kilometer rose from 4,051 lira to 4,456 lira, while staff shuttle fees increased from 2,284.54 lira to 2,512.99 lira. The new tariff will be effective as of July 20.

The July meetings of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Assembly, the third session, were held under the chairmanship of Assembly Vice President Gencay Özcan at the municipal building in Saraçhane.

10 PERCENT INCREASE IN SCHOOL BUS FEES

At the assembly, the agenda item titled "Public Transportation Fare Tariff Regulation," which includes a 10 percent increase for public transportation vehicles such as buses, metro, metrobus, minibuses, and ferries, as well as taxis and school buses, was discussed.

The request to increase the fare for distances between 0 and 1 kilometer for school bus services from 4,051 lira to 4,456 lira, and staff shuttle service fees from 2,284.54 lira to 2,512.99 lira, was included in the said agenda item.

EFFECTIVE FROM JULY 20

In the vote following the discussions, the regulation was approved by a majority vote, with the votes of the CHP group against the "no" votes of the AK Party. The new tariff will be effective from July 20.
