In a tragic accident in the Saraykent district of Yozgat, a school service minibus overturned, resulting in the deaths of 3 people, including 2 students, and injuries to 7 other students, according to initial reports.
A traffic accident that occurred in the evening hours in the Saraykent district of Yozgat plunged the education community into mourning. A service vehicle transporting students from Saraykent town center to Söğütlü village went out of control near the village and overturned into a ditch.
LOST CONTROL AND OVERTURNED
According to the information obtained, the student service vehicle with license plate 66 ADT 198, whose driver's identity has not yet been determined, skidded and overturned into a ditch at the Söğütlü village location after the driver lost control of the steering wheel. Upon notification from nearby citizens, numerous gendarmerie, AFAD, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
GOVERNOR ÖZKAN ANNOUNCED THE SAD NEWS
In the initial investigations at the scene, it was determined that the service driver and 2 students lost their lives. Making a statement about the accident, Yozgat Governor Mehmet Ali Özkan confirmed the loss of lives and shared the following information:
"The service vehicle going from Saraykent district to Söğütlü was involved in a single-vehicle accident. Unfortunately, 2 of our students and the service driver died in the accident. The remaining 7 students are injured. It is reported that one of our injured students has a hip fracture, while the conditions of the others are generally good."
THE INJURED WERE TAKEN TO HOSPITAL
The 7 students who survived the accident with injuries were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulances for treatment after initial interventions at the scene. The bodies of those who lost their lives were taken to the morgue after examinations.
Security forces have launched a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the accident.
