With the CBRT raising its year-end inflation forecast to 26 percent, the raise calculations for retired and civil servant salaries have changed once again. According to the new scenario, SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees are expected to receive a 17.4 percent raise in July, and the minimum retirement pension is expected to increase to 23,360 TL.

With the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) raising its year-end inflation forecast to 26 percent, the salary raise calculations for civil servants and retirees have been reshaped. According to the new estimates, the raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees in July is expected to reach 17.4 percent.

CBRT UPDATES INFLATION FORECAST

Fatih Karahan, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, held the second Inflation Report presentation of the year with his deputies. In his statement, Karahan noted that the year-end inflation forecast has been updated and announced that the expected inflation rate in Turkey by the end of the year has been revised to 26 percent. Additionally, the intermediate inflation target for 2026 was raised to 24 percent.

FIRST 4-MONTH RAISE RATE FINALIZED

According to the January-April inflation data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the finalized raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees for the first 4 months was 14.64 percent. Based on the CBRT's forecasts, for the year-end inflation of 26 percent to materialize, the average monthly inflation for the May-December period needs to be at 1.19 percent.

NEW SCENARIO FOR JULY RAISE

According to a report by Habertürk columnist Ahmet Kıvanç, if the CBRT's forecasts come true, SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will be entitled to a 17.4 percent raise in July. The projected raise rate for civil servants and retired civil servants is stated to rise to 13.2 percent.

NEW CALCULATION FOR YEAR-END

If the CBRT's year-end forecasts materialize, the new salary increase rates for the July-December period have also been shaped.

Accordingly,

  • SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees may receive a 7.6 percent raise in the first half of the year,
  • Civil servants and retired civil servants may receive a 5.3 percent raise.

MINIMUM RETIREE PENSION COULD BE 23,360 TL

If the CBRT's forecasts come true, there will also be an increase in the minimum retiree pension. According to the calculations in the report, the minimum retiree pension is expected to rise from 20,000 TL to 23,360 TL in July.
