Second consecutive discount on fuel

Second consecutive discount on fuel

05.08.2026 10:00

Following the reduction applied to diesel prices last night, another decrease has come to the agenda. According to sector calculations, 75 percent of the 3 lira 97 kuruş reduction expected to take effect as of midnight tonight will be transferred to Special Consumption Tax (SCT), and only a 99 kuruş reflection will occur in pump prices.

The decline in oil prices in international markets has created expectations of a second consecutive reduction in diesel prices. However, just like yesterday's 6 lira 37 kuruş reduction, a large portion of today's expected decrease has been absorbed by the tax equalization mechanism.

ANOTHER REDUCTION IN DIESEL

According to data from industry sources, of the total 6 lira 37 kuruş decrease on August 5, 5 lira 32 kuruş was transferred to SCT, and the net reduction reflected at the pump was 1 lira 05 kuruş. Of the new 3 lira 97 kuruş decrease expected today, 2 lira 98 kuruş will go to SCT deduction, and only 99 kuruş will be reflected at the pump.

2 LIRA 4 KURUŞ REDUCTION IN TWO DAYS

Of the total 10 lira 34 kuruş decrease originating from international markets over two days; only 2 lira 04 kuruş will be passed on to consumers, while the remaining giant 8 lira 30 kuruş portion will be added to SCT revenue.

The reduction is expected to take effect from 00:01 on Thursday, August 6, 2026, provided there is no last-minute change in calculations.
