A tragedy was narrowly avoided once again on the balcony of the house in Mersin where an electric shock incident occurred 14 days ago. The grandmother, who had lost her 1.5-year-old grandson, was also injured by the electric current.
ELECTROCUTED LIKE HER GRANDSON
The incident occurred in the Gündoğdu neighborhood of the Akdeniz district. According to claims, Yıldız Konut fell ill after being electrocuted while beating a carpet on her house balcony. Upon a report from her relatives, health teams were dispatched to the scene. After initial intervention, Konut was taken to Mersin City Training and Research Hospital by ambulance. It was learned that Konut's treatment at the hospital is ongoing.
In the incident that occurred on June 24 on the balcony of the same house, it was reported that 1.5-year-old Yamaç Ali Erdemci was electrocuted by touching the balcony railings, and his grandmother, Yıldız Konut, was slightly injured while trying to rescue him. It was also learned that little Yamaç, severely injured, lost his life struggle at the hospital where he was taken.
"I LOST MY SON, WILL I LOSE MY MOTHER TOO?"
Yamaç Ali's mother, Asyete Erdemci, said, "I lost my son 10 days ago. On Monday, I also lost my 9-month-old niece in the womb. Today, my mother was electrocuted while beating a carpet on the balcony. We went inside when my mother screamed. We put her arm on the ground. No official has come for 10-15 days. The person responsible for this has not come. We will file a complaint to the end. I lost my son, will I lose my mother too? Will this problem be solved only after our entire family is gone?"
"ARE YOU WAITING FOR OUR ENTIRE FAMILY TO DIE?"
Yamaç Ali's aunt, Gamze Karabulut, said, "Recently, Yamaç Ali was electrocuted. While trying to rescue Yamaç Ali, my mother was also electrocuted. Today, my mother was electrocuted again. This time, it was severe. There is nothing we can do. We lost a 2-year-old child. We are now afraid to live in this house. Our lives have become very risky. I lost my 9-month-old daughter in the womb due to grief. I didn't know what to do from the pain. Are you waiting for our entire family to die before taking precautions?" she spoke.
