The volatility in fuel prices continues. Following the 1 lira 31 kuruş increase in diesel prices today, a new 76 kuruş hike is expected to take effect starting Wednesday. With consecutive increases, the total price rise in diesel over two days will reach 2 lira 7 kuruş.
Fluctuations in international oil prices, exchange rates, and tax regulations are causing rapid changes in the signs at fuel stations. With the 1 lira 31 kuruş increase in diesel today being reflected at the pump, prices have risen to the 65-67 lira range depending on the province.
TOTAL TWO-DAY INCREASE EXCEEDS 2 LIRAS
According to information provided by economy writer Olcay Aydilek, the price increase in diesel will not be limited to today's hike. A further increase of 76 kuruş per liter is forecasted to take effect from Wednesday. With this expected increase also being reflected at the pump at midnight, the total difference reflected on the signs over two days will reach 2 lira 7 kuruş.
