After the stabbing murder of 44-year-old teacher Fatmanur Çelik in Çekmeköy, Istanbul, statements from ministers followed one after another. Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin stated, "This loss is a shared pain and sorrow of our education community and our country," while Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek said, "An immediate judicial investigation has been initiated by our Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident. The process is being conducted in a comprehensive and meticulous manner. Those responsible will be held accountable before the law."
In the Taşdelen Borsa İstanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School located in Çekmeköy, Istanbul, a knife attack targeting two teachers and a student resulted in the death of 44-year-old teacher Fatma Nur Çelik.
The murder of Çelik caused great sorrow; teachers in Istanbul decided to go on a one-day strike.
AKIN GÜRLEK: AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED
Following the stabbing death of 44-year-old teacher Fatma Nur Çelik, statements came one after another from the ministers. Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced on his social media account that an investigation has been initiated regarding the murder.
Gürlek stated, "I learned with sadness the news of our teacher Fatma Nur Çelik's passing due to a heinous attack that occurred at one of our high schools in Çekmeköy, Istanbul." He added, "An immediate judicial investigation has been launched by our Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident. The process is being conducted comprehensively and meticulously. Those responsible will be held accountable before the law.
The loss of a valuable teacher who left us while performing her duty has deeply saddened not only her family but also the entire educational community and our nation.
I pray for mercy from the Almighty for our teacher Fatma Nur; I wish patience and condolences to her grieving family, relatives, students, and the National Education community. I also wish a speedy recovery to the student and teacher who were injured in the attack. I extend my best wishes to our educational community and our nation," he expressed.

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin stated the following in his announcement: "We lost our valuable teacher Fatma Nur Çelik as a result of a heinous attack that occurred at one of our high schools in Çekmeköy, Istanbul.
It is not easy to describe the pain of losing a teacher who was taken away from her students while on duty. Our teachers are the most valuable custodians nurturing the future of this nation.
The departure of an educator who enters the classroom to touch a child's mind and guide a young person's life due to such an attack has deeply shaken all of us.
This loss is a shared grief and sorrow for our educational community and our country. I pray for mercy from the Almighty for our teacher Fatma Nur; I wish patience to her family, relatives, students, and colleagues.
I wish a speedy recovery to the injured student and teacher. May our educational family and our esteemed nation find peace."
