Serdar Aziz, who also wore Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe jerseys during his career, announced that he has ended his active football career. Aziz also stated that he has a goal of becoming a coach.
Former national footballer Serdar Aziz said that he wants to continue his career as a coach and that he has started receiving training in that direction. Serdar Aziz, who met with journalists at the event organized by the Turkish Sports Writers Association (TSYD) Bursa Branch, stated that he had not played football for a long time and had retired from active football.
Serdar Aziz stated that he spent this period with his family and set new goals for himself. Explaining that he took the first step toward coaching, Serdar Aziz said, "I enrolled in the coaching course, and my work continues as a result. In the short term, God willing, after I receive my diploma, I plan to continue my career in coaching. Of course, this will not be easy. It is a challenging path; I am aware of that. As a result, I also think I will do good work with the knowledge I accumulate."
"JESUS AND I GET ALONG VERY WELL"
Serdar Aziz recalled that in his football career, after Bursaspor, he played for Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. Stating that even during these periods his heart and mind were always with Bursaspor, Aziz expressed his wish that the team would always do well. Serdar Aziz, stating that he would not rush into coaching and would take solid steps, noted the following:
"I need to develop myself well. At first, I would like to work with a good and experienced coach and be by his side. Because there may be a lot I can learn. It is necessary to plan correctly without rushing. I have a few things, plans, and projects in mind. There are very good coaches with whom I am in contact. I am on very good terms with Jorge Jesus. He is one of the coaches I like the most. There is also a lot I can learn from him. I feel lucky because I have worked with good coaches."
"NOT WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP AT FENERBAHÇE HAS REMAINED A REGRET INSIDE ME
Stating that he could not leave Bursaspor as he wanted, Serdar Aziz expressed that this remained a shortcoming for him. Emphasizing that the years he spent at Bursaspor have a special place for him, Aziz evaluated the championships in his career and said, "I experienced a championship at Bursaspor, I experienced championships at Galatasaray; these are very beautiful memories. We could not become champions at Fenerbahçe. If there is something that will remain a regret inside me, it is not being able to experience a championship at Fenerbahçe." TSYD Bursa Branch President Mehmet Ali Ekmekçi also stated that they were happy to host Serdar Aziz. At the end of the program, Ekmekçi presented a thank-you plaque to Aziz.
