The statement given to the prosecutor by Özlem Esmergül, the girlfriend of 51-year-old actor Serhat Kılıç, who was found dead in his home in Kağıthane, has emerged. In her statement to the police, Özlem Esmergül said that Kılıç did not have substance and alcohol addiction, but at the prosecutor's office she said, 'I know that he has been using drugs and alcohol ever since I have known him.' In the crime scene investigation report, it was stated that herbal substances, considered to be drugs, were found in a metal box and a suitcase in the living room.
In the investigation into the death of actor Serhat Kılıç, who was found dead in his home in Kağıthane, the discrepancy between his girlfriend Özlem Esmergül's statements to the police and to the prosecutor drew attention.
FOUND MOTIONLESS IN THE ARMCHAIR The incident occurred on September 5 at around 17:00 in Nurtepe Neighborhood. According to the information obtained, his girlfriend Özlem Esmergül, who could not reach actor Serhat Kılıç, came to the house where Kılıç lived. Entering with her spare key, Özlem Esmergül found Kılıç motionless in the armchair in the living room. Upon the report, Kağıthane Public Order Bureau teams and medical teams were dispatched to the address. In the examination by the medical teams, it was determined that Kılıç had lost his life. Kılıç's body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after the examinations.
HIS STATEMENT TO THE PROSECUTOR REVEALED While the investigation into Kılıç's death continues, the statement his girlfriend Özlem Esmergül gave to the prosecutor at the scene has emerged. In her statement, Özlem Esmergül said the following:
"Serhat Mustafa Kılıç is my friend. I have known him for 8 years. He is a film and TV series actor. I last spoke with him on Thursday, 2 days ago, via mobile phone. There was a situation regarding him being dismissed from the TV series he was acting in because he could not go to the set due to health reasons. We talked about this on the phone. He also told me his health condition was very bad. Finally, he argued with me and his friends on the set because he could not attend the sets due to health reasons, and subsequently, I learned he was not answering calls. However, it was in his nature to not communicate with people he was upset with for 5-6 days. Therefore, after I could not reach him on Thursday, I was not very suspicious of this situation," it was learned that she said.
"I KNOW HE USED DRUGS AND ALCOHOL" In the continuation of her statement, Özlem Esmergül said, "Normally, on Monday, I would go to him and check if he needed anything. But today, I suddenly had a feeling and wanted to go to him. I entered the house with the spare key I had. There were broken plate pieces on the floor. It was quite cold inside and the air conditioner was on. When I touched him, I realized his body was stiff, and after concluding he was dead, I notified the police. I know that he had recently been receiving treatment for a neck hernia at a private hospital in Şişli. He was already unable to go to work due to this condition. He would walk around wearing a neck brace," she said.

As far as I know, he has also been using cocaine for the last 6 months. He has no one he is at odds with."
CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION REPORT REVEALED The crime scene investigation report prepared by the teams of the Istanbul Police Department Crime Scene Investigation Branch has emerged. In the report, it was stated that there was a security guard and security camera at the entrance of the complex where Kılıç's apartment was located, and that entry and exit were controlled. It was also noted that there was a security camera overlooking the corridor at the building entrance. According to the report, there were no signs of forced entry on the steel front door of the apartment. While it was observed that there was no key in the door, broken pieces belonging to a plate of the same color and pattern were found in the hallway and at the entrance of the living room.
SUBSTANCES DEEMED SUSPICIOUS IN METAL BOX AND SUITCASE In the report, it was stated that in a metal box on the wooden coffee table in the living room, there was a green herbal plant considered to be a drug. It was also noted that there was rolling paper in a bag. It was stated that in a fabric suitcase in front of the bookshelf, there was a green herbal plant considered to be a drug inside a black clip-top bag, as well as 3 rolled 200-lira banknotes considered to be used for drug use.
The investigation into Kılıç's death continues.
