Extraordinary security measures were taken during US President Donald Trump's visit to Ankara for the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government. A personal toilet system was also brought from the US for Trump, who arrived with a delegation of approximately 1,400 people. It was stated that, as part of the security protocol, the president's biological waste would not be released into the local sewage system and would be taken back to the US due to intelligence risks.

As Ankara hosted the world's most important leaders during the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government held on July 7-8, striking security preparations were made for the visit of US President Donald Trump.

Trump was reported to have attended the summit with a delegation of approximately 1,400 people. The US contingent, including politicians, diplomats, military officials, and CIA personnel, stood out as the largest delegation among the participating countries.

HOTEL RESERVED EXCLUSIVELY FOR US DELEGATION

It was stated that Trump and his accompanying delegation would stay at a hotel near the US Embassy compound in Ankara. For security reasons, the hotel where Trump would stay was allocated entirely to the US delegation during the visit, and no other guests would be accepted at the facility.

It was indicated that the US Secret Service had begun inspections at the hotel days in advance, and the electrical, water, ventilation, and fire safety systems were checked in detail.

PRESIDENTIAL LIMOUSINE BROUGHT FROM THE US

Trump's presidential limousine, nicknamed "The Beast," was also brought from the US to Turkey. Additionally, it was stated that the Secret Service planned to use drones in Ankara for close protection, and coordination with Turkish authorities was ongoing.

BIOLOGICAL WASTE EVEN TRANSPORTED WITH SPECIAL PROTOCOL

Security measures did not stop there. As part of the protocol applied during previous US presidents' overseas visits, Trump's personal toilet system was brought from the US. It was reported that the president's biological waste would not be left in the local sewage system and would be taken back to the US under a special protection procedure due to intelligence risks.

SECURITY AT HIGHEST LEVEL IN THE CAPITAL

Extraordinary security measures are being implemented across Ankara due to the NATO Summit. Police and gendarmerie teams are deployed along the leaders' transit routes, while a security cordon has been established around the Presidential Complex, ATO Congresium, and the Turkish General Staff headquarters where the summit will take place.

While some main arteries are expected to be temporarily closed to traffic during the summit, diplomatic and security traffic in Ankara has reached its highest level.
