After the first intervention, Şeyma Gökçe Kayahan was taken by ambulance to Yıldırım Beyazıt University Yenimahalle Training and Research Hospital. Despite all efforts by the doctors, Kayahan could not be saved.

Meanwhile, police teams who arrived at the building after the incident called Şeyma Gökçe Kayahan's boyfriend Hüseyin U. by phone and rang the doorbell, but received no response. Subsequently, the public prosecutor was informed, and a locksmith was called to open the door. Hüseyin U. was found asleep in the bedroom. It was reported that Hüseyin U., who is said to be a veteran and undergoing rehabilitation, stated that he took medication and went to bed after the argument and was unaware of the incident. It was noted that Hüseyin U., who was taken into custody after the incident, would be referred to the courthouse following his procedures at the police station.
