While trying to cross the road in Afyonkarahisar, teacher Şeyma Candan (23) was hit by a minibus and died in the hospital where she was taken.

In the Karşıyaka neighborhood, around 22:30 yesterday, a minibus with the license plate 16 ASE 911, driven by M.E., hit teacher Şeyma Candan, who was trying to cross the road, and then crashed into a business on the roadside. After the accident, a large number of police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Injured Şeyma Candan was taken to Afyonkarahisar State Hospital by ambulance. Şeyma Candan could not be saved.

It has been learned that Şeyma Candan, who worked as a fine arts and painting teacher at a private school in the neighborhood, had been sitting in a café with her friends drinking tea before the accident and left to go home afterward. The body of Candan, whose procedures at the morgue of Afyonkarahisar State Hospital were completed, was handed over to her grieving family this morning. Candan was buried after the prayer held in Sadıkbey Neighborhood. Meanwhile, it has been learned that the minibus driver M.E. was taken into custody after the accident.
