Additionally, Eve is expected to receive a 4-year ban from volleyball.
The Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team, who competed in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, faced the Netherlands in their first match. The Queens of the Court managed to start the Olympics with a victory by defeating their opponent 3-2 after being 2-0 behind. As they prepare for their second match against the Dominican Republic, the Turkish team is facing a doping shock before the match that will be played on August 1st, Thursday.
POSITIVE DOPING TEST, DISQUALIFIED
Lisvel Eve, the middle blocker in the Dominican Republic Women's National Volleyball Team's Paris 2024 squad, has been disqualified from the Olympic Games after testing positive for doping. Geraldine Gonzalez, who was a reserve player in the squad, replaced Lisvel Eve. Eve's doping use was detected one day before the Olympics and she was banned from the tournament.
WILL RECEIVE A 4-YEAR BAN
Lisvel Eve will most likely receive a 4-year ban from volleyball due to doping. Eve stated in her statement, "This is a very sad situation, I am very disappointed and upset with myself, it slipped my mind because I didn't research it before, the medication I used to control fluid retention in my body (furosemide) was caught in the doping test in the last VNL," she said.
