An UAV that fell in the Vakfıkebir district of Trabzon exploded. It was determined that the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which crashed in a rural area, belonged to Ukraine and carried approximately 5 kilograms of explosives. Following the incident, which caused brief panic in the neighborhood, security forces launched an extensive investigation in the area.
The Vakfıkebir district of Trabzon witnessed a highly dangerous incident. An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flying at low altitude in a rural area crashed into a tree for an undetermined reason and exploded with great force.
5 KILOGRAMS OF EXPLOSIVE DETECTED IN THE WRECKAGE
Following the intense explosion, gendarmerie, crime scene investigation, and explosive ordnance disposal teams were swiftly dispatched to the scene. Initial technical examinations conducted by security forces on the fragmented UAV wreckage revealed the severity of the incident.
IT WAS CARRYING 5 KILOS OF EXPLOSIVE
In detailed studies carried out by expert teams at the wreckage site, it was confirmed that the unmanned aerial vehicle that crashed into the tree and exploded was of Ukrainian origin. Additionally, it was determined that the vehicle, which is assessed to have strayed off course and reached the Black Sea, contained approximately 5 kilograms of explosive material.
LOCALS EXPERIENCED BRIEF PANIC
The sudden loud explosion in the rural area caused moments of fear for the residents of Açıkalan Neighborhood. Following the incident, which triggered brief panic, the area was cordoned off, and citizens were not allowed to approach the wreckage site.
While no loss of life or injuries occurred in the incident, comprehensive investigations by security forces and relevant technical units in the area continue, along with an inquiry into exactly where the vehicle took off from and how it reached Trabzon.
